Look at this magnificent, colorful, tiny, sports car.
If the green and gold isn’t enough color for you, it also has an orange interior. And I love it. Found on Seattle CL.
I have to wonder, is there an easy, older, or euro market option to fix those hideous bumpers?

This pic isn’t appearing in the postfor some reason so I’ll add it here.

Very pretty colour and very pretty car.
But look at the bright side of those bumpers... you can ‘park with confidence’ in the city with those.

Seriously though, I like it. I think I’d have gone with tan inserts in the seats, but I like it nonetheless.

I don’t mind the pumper so much. And B iT urbo228 might have liked to have more protection when he drove his into a hedge:
Does look pretty nice after being fixed :

That’s pretty.
From what I can tell, the euro bumpers on these were still black, they just didn’t stick out like that.
I grew up seeing so many cars with those bumpers, cars from this era look more “normal” to me with them. I actually like the W116 Mercedes better with US bumpers - and fully realize I may be the only person on earth who feels that way.

Who wore it better?

Yeah, I’m fine with the big bumpers. I think they add distinction to the vehicles from that era.
It’s sure be nice if we still had ‘em today. Every time I rent a low-clearance car I get stressed. The Jeep has spoiled me.

Yes that bumper look much better. I’d take the risk for the car to look proper
Altho this is coming from a guy with no bumpers at all on his 84 VW. So my judgement is not to be trusted

I must admit, I liked your Rabbit a lot better with the bumpers , so obviously tastes vary. I’m generally a huge bumper apologist (though I do hate the 5mph bumpers on the MGB).

That is by some distance the best color scheme I’ve ever seen on an X1/9.
Euro/early bumpers look much better in my view and are an easy retrofit. Or you could just leave them off - the car looks pretty good without them. Though the stock ones do have “maximum 70s” appeal.

I will never forgive the Mythbusters for smashing one of those between two speeding trucks.
